Here's where you can research ideas, or get organised, for your year (or period) of service:
There are literally thousands of ways to serve humanity and the Bahá'í community, in as many places. All you've got to do is think how you can best utilise your talents, passions and interests. Challenge yourself and rise to the call of service!
If you are planning on a Year (or period) of Service, whether it's in Australia or overseas, it's important that you contact the Youth Desk to express your interest. It's the best starting point to chat about your ideas, current opportunities, visa and travel requirements for different destinations. There are also administrative requirements to meet and the Youth Desk will help you with that.
Below we've listed just a few websites and contacts from around the Bahá'í world that you can check out for information on service opportunities . Click here to download a more thorough list. And don't forget to read service stories, or post them, in the service stories map.
Australia
Many locations around Australia require Year of Service volunteers, from the Temple grounds in Sydney to Children's education in Albany . Please contact the Youth Desk for the current info: youth@bnc.bahai.org.au.
"It is my hope that… these friends attain a station which shall be an example and stimulus for all friends in the world… may intelligent souls be found here so that with all power they may be occupied in the service of God, furthering the oneness of the human world and the cause of the Most Great Peace. "
"… order your lives in accordance with the first principle of the divine teaching, which is love. Service to humanity is service to God."
