University and TAFE are places of innovation, independent search and discovery. Shoghi Effendi likened university to a "fertile field" for scattering seeds and spreading the Bahá'í message. Historically, university campuses have been a hotbed for social movements and revolutionary ideas.

From indigenous rights to environmental awareness, universities are a place for the emergence of new directions in society. Shoghi Effendi has pointed out how university students are as a whole "open-minded and little influenced by tradition."

Baha'i Societies are in a unique position to address the spiritual dislocation, social disruption and intellectual disarray felt by many of our peers on campuses across the country.
 
There are over 20 University Baha'i Societies in Australia that organising events and activities on campus. For details of a Bahá'í Society on a campus near you, contact the National Youth Committee: nyc@bahai.org.au.
